Why convert images to PDF?

PDF is the standard format for sending documents: it looks the same on every device, prints at the right size and is what most applications, schools, employers and government offices ask for. Turning images into a PDF is especially useful to:

  • Send photos of documents (IDs, invoices, receipts, contracts) as a single file.
  • Hand in notes, assignments or exams photographed with your phone.
  • Build a portfolio or a catalog from several images.
  • Archive receipts and proofs of purchase in an orderly way.

How to combine several images into one PDF

  1. Add the images: drag them onto the area above or select them. JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF and iPhone HEIC photos are supported.
  2. Put them in order with the arrows: each image becomes a page, in the order of the list. Remove any you don't need.
  3. Choose the page size: Letter (US and Canada), A4 (most of the world) or “Fit to image”, which makes each page exactly the size of its photo.
  4. Set orientation and margins. In automatic mode, each page is oriented to match its image.
  5. Press “Create PDF” and it downloads immediately.

PDF quality and size

Each image is centered and fitted to the page without being distorted. Pasafoto embeds it at roughly 300 dpi (print quality), never exceeding the original resolution. Use the quality control to reduce the PDF's weight: 85% is ideal for documents, and 70% produces very light files for email or upload portals with size limits.

If your photos are huge and the PDF is still heavy, you can shrink the images or compress them before combining them.

Total privacy for your documents

Photos of documents often contain very sensitive data: ID numbers, addresses, bank accounts. That's why it matters that Pasafoto builds the PDF inside your browser. Your images are never uploaded to a server and nobody else can see them. It's the safest way to turn personal documents into a PDF.

On your phone too

It works on Android and iPhone: take the photos, open them here, put them in order and create the PDF in seconds, without installing any app.

Tips for documents scanned with your phone

Shoot in good light, with no shadows and the document filling most of the frame. If a photo comes out crooked or with a wide border, crop it in your phone's photo app before adding it. Choose Letter or A4 with small margins so the PDF prints correctly. If the site you're submitting to limits the size (say, 2 MB), lower the quality to 70% and create the PDF again: the text will still be perfectly readable.
